Robert's Bio

Robert MileyI was born on a river boat on the Missouri River, and as far back as I can remember my father took me fishing.  When the Ft. Randell dam was built it flooded us out and we moved to Oregon, where I grew up fishing for salmon and steelhead trout.

I finished high school in the small town of Stayton, Oregon.  At that time the Vietnam war was going on and  I served four years in the military.  Upon getting out of the service, there were no real jobs in the Pacific Northwest, so the GI bill paid for my schooling.  I graduated from Universal Heavy Equipment School, and have a two year degree in business, business management, and marketing.  I now own a very successful construction business.

I started bass fishing in 1969, in the Everglades, L-67.  The very first trip out I caught a 10lb 0/8 o/z largemouth bass, and have been fishing for bass ever since.  MY largest bass to date is 15 lbs.  I caught it in the everglades on a musky jitter bug.  I started the fishing club called the Homestead Ambassadors in 1974, which was B.A.S.S. affiliated at the time.  I won numerous club tournaments and was fisherman of the year twice.  I also belong to Trail Glades Bassmasters, of Miami, where I am still a current member.

I also belong to S.A.F.E.R., South Florida Anglers for Everglades Restoration.  We are working with the Corps of Engineers, so as bass fisherman we don't lose our access to the canal system in the Everglades.

I have been fishing professionally on the B.A.S.S. Eastern Division, for the past five years. I also have been working with several Rep Groups over the past 6 years, and I travel to most all the Bass Pro Shops on East Coast, helping out my rep groups and sponsors with their product lines.  I represent Stren Line, PinPoint electronics, Motor Guide trolling motors, Strike King Lures, Zebco / Quantum and Quantum Tour Edition rods, Mega Strike bait scent, Mustad Hooks, and Ultra Point Hooks.

I have been very successful in helping my sponsors and rep groups. Follow me this year on the new open central division, sponsored by Motor Guide.
